2008 Summer Camps dates at Wellington College, Berkshire

  • 28th July – 1st August
  • 18th August – 22nd August

Join Nick Anderson at the UK’s most exciting and informative Young Athlete camps held in the stunning setting of Wellington College in Berkshire. Having been involved with the creation and direction of Young Athlete camps for 7 years, Nick and his top team of exerienced Coaches are proud to present two newly created summer camps for 2008.

These unique camps are specifically designed for 12-18 year olds to encourage them to enjoy their running whilst helping to identify, develop and support our future athletic talent. Far from being elitist, the aim is to help youngsters, whatever their level, to improve their performance whilst enjoying a fun packed camp.

Our dedicated team comprises of some of the countries leading UKA coaches including GB Endurance Coaches Bud Baldaro, Steve Benson and Bob Ashwood as well as experienced GB female runner Louise Damen. They all have a wealth of experience working with young athletes and practice responsible coaching to help each child develop their skills and knowledge while having a great time in a healthy, positive and safe environment.

During each camp there will be a number of guest elite athletes who will not only join us for our training sessions but also be available to chat about their training secrets and how they achieve their success.

The exciting agenda includes a wide range of practical training sessions and workshops such as:

  • training for speed and endurance
  • hill sessions
  • mental preparation for racing and training
  • drills and agility skills
  • race preparation and tactics
  • strength and conditioning programmes
  • the challenges of an athlete’s lifestyle
  • personal training plans and target setting
  • injury prevention, stretching and massage

There’ll also be a full range of supervised activities such as swimming, football, volleyball, group games, challenges and much more...
