About the Team
Nick Anderson
The camps are directed by Camp Director, Nick Anderson, who has delivered young athlete camps for the last 7 years. Nick is a P.E teacher & Head of Athletics Coach at Winchester College. As a former national level senior athlete, he has a full understanding of the challenges that new runners face and he openly talks about the mistakes he made as a junior athlete.
These experiences helped to fuel a passion that has lead to a career as a top class Coach. Nick has been coaching since 1994 and he is now the GB Endurance and Cross-Country Coach. It is not only his knowledge and understanding of the sport, but also his motivational style that allow him to present and write articles for all levels of the sport with the same passion. Nick has a wealth of qualifications and experience in many areas of the running and fitness industry, but it is also his energy and enthusiasm that makes him one of the country’s leading Coaches.
Assisting him are a team of senior UKA qualified coaches and a dedicated pastoral care team:
- Bud Baldaro: GB Endurance Coach
- Steve Benson: Assistant GB Endurance Coach
- Bob Ashwood: GB Endurance Coach
- Matt Lockett: UKA Level 3 Coach
- Richard Pickering: UKA Level 3 Coach
- Louise Damen: Senior GB Women’s Athlete
- Jackie Cadman: Pastoral Care Leader & UKA Level 1 Coach
All the members of the team have experience in the education system as school teachers or assistants, or are Coaches or help within athletics clubs. All our staff are CRB checked and approved. The team of Coaches and staff at our young athlete camps are committed, professional and passionate about developing young athletes’ skills, knowledge and potential.
